Dr. Muhammad Bilal is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering. He received his Doctor of Engineering (Eng.D.) in Information and Communication Engineering from Harbin Engineering University, China, and holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Hamdard University and FAST–National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Pakistan, respectively.

Before joining Guangzhou Nanfang College, Dr. Bilal served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Harbin Engineering University, where he taught courses in Machine Learning, Computer Networks, and Information Theory and conducted advanced research in AI-based marine communication, signal processing, and intelligent systems. He has also worked as Manager (Technical) at the National Engineering and Scientific Commission (Pakistan), leading projects on AI integration in underwater robotic platforms and covert communication systems.

Dr. Bilal’s research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Underwater Acoustic Communication, Signal Processing, and Cybersecurity. He has authored more than 25 SCI-indexed publications in reputed international journals such as IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Transactions of Communication, Applied Acoustics, and Physical Communication.

He is a recipient of the Heilongjiang Government Best Teacher Award and has been recognized for his excellence in research and teaching. Dr. Bilal is an active member of IEEE, IET, ACM, and UKAN, and continues to contribute to international collaborations between China, Pakistan, and the UK in the domain of intelligent communication systems.
